This is a very interesting look at life on board a U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier during World War II. We see not only elements of day-to-day life but the waiting in ready rooms, scrambling to get in the air for engagements and bombardments and the returns from battle
Don Ameche and Dana Andrews head an all-star cast in this acclaimed film about life aboard a U.S. aircraft carrier after the attack on Pearl Harbor. A group of young, eager Navy pilots become frustrated when their higher-ups enact a non-combat strategy against the Japanese.
Told in flashback, Task Force stars Gary Cooper in a wide-ranging performance taking him from brash young aviator to command of an aircraft carrier. Also on deck are Walter Brennan as a veteran navy sea dog and Jane Wyatt as Cooper's valiant, uncomplaining wife. The movie's other star attraction is actual World War II combat footage putting you in the middle of the chaos of a carrier deck strewn with flaming wrecks or the nail-biting tension of a ship's radar room.
always been a favorite A & C movie. The routines the two have are hilarious, the Andrew Sisters are wonderful, and you will absolutely love the main song "Where in the Navy, Watch Dogs of Liberty!".
